Challenge League Eleventh Round

Bunnys Kyoto SC  0 - 1  Sfida Setagaya FC

Setagaya had an important away win against Bunnys Kyoto, the only goal of the game coming in the 48th minute from Sunoki Yurie, her fourth of the season. Neither side offered much going forward and Setagaya held on to stay among the top four. They'll hope for a better return at home to Cerezo Osaka Sakai next Saturday.

Nittaidai showed their strength at home to Tokiwagi Gakuen, with Hirata Hiakri scoring twice in her first start for the university. Abe Rie headed in her first goal of the season early on though this was wiped out by a powerful run and shot from Kobayashi Rikako in the 23rd minute. Hirata put Nittaidai back into the lead with a fine volley twelve minutes later, and two minutes before half-time scored another. Tokiwagi made two changes at half-time but were unable to break down the stubborn Nittaidai defence. Nittaidai are away in Harima on Sunday, Tokiwagi Gakuen have another weekend off.

The JFA Academy extended their unbeaten run to seven games though will have been disappointed not to hold onto the half-time two goal lead given to them by Ueda and Kitagawa. The hosts came back strongly in the second half and goals from Saihara and Matsuda leveled the game up and keep the side in the top ten.

A routine win for Takatsuki over a JSCL side which only produced one shot in the game keeps them four points clear at the top of the table. A first half goal from Hazuki was added to late in the game by Saito. The two players have scored twelve of Takatsuki's thirty-one goals this season. They next take on the JFA Academy who are on a good run themselves.

Once again for Cerezo Osaka Sakai it was a case of having much needed points snatched away, as Hirano and Ishida scored for Shizuoka with Tamazakura having given Cerezo hope with an early goal - her fourth of the season, and highest of all Cerezo players. They next face a daunting challenge away to Setagaya with Shizuoka Sangyo, who slowly making their way up the table, home to Ange Violet.

A remarkable fifth 1-0 win from their first eleven games sees AS Harima Albion stay in contention at the top of the table, six points off the top and four away from second place. Sakai Nozomi's free kick was headed in by Chiba Sonoko for her second goal in two games. Ehime's promotion chances are all but over, but will still want to finish well in view of the creation of the new Nadeshiko League Second Division. They will fully expect to beat Shimizu next weekend. Harima host Nittaidai.

A somewhat less than convincing win over Shimizu has steadied Fukuoka somewhat, though they remain a very disappointing eleventh in the table. Yoshizawa, Takahashi and Doshita all scored for Fukuoka before Miyagawa pulled one back for Shimizu very late in the game. Both sides have regressed this season, and Shimizu once again stare relegation in the face.

Nojima Stella raced into a two-goal lead in this important clash at the top of the table. Their two leading scorers, Minamino and Yoshimi got on the scoresheet early before young Makii Kasane scored her first league goal in her first start. Nojima were not phased though, and by half-time had scored twice more, with Minamino netting her second of the game along with a strike from Kanai. Nagasawa added another on 55 minutes before Nagano got themselves sorted out and began to strike back. Hashiura Satsuki made it 5-2 on 58 minutes, and Yokoyama Kumi scored a penalty on 69 minutes. Nojima held on and although they again conceded to Yokoyama in the second minute of additional time, they held on for a very important victory. They stay third, level on points with Nittaidai and Setagaya. Nagano's challenge is fading.
