Challenge League Fourteenth Round

Shizuoka Sangyo University Iwata Bonita  1 - 4  Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara
(Attendance: 138)

This game was played on July 19th

Nojima Stella ended the weekend level with Nittaidai at the top of the table following their eighth win in succession, having recovered from a less then auspicious start to the season.

Shizuoka were the surprise leaders early in the game, their top scorer and captain Hirano Asami with her fifth of the season after ten minutes. Nojima responded well and their in-form players Yoshimi Natsuki and Minamino Arisa both scored before half-time to change the complexion of the game.

In the second half Nojima scored twice more, with goals from another two players having good seasons, Omiya Reona and Kawarazaki Nozomi, with Kanai Nanae assisting on both occasions.

Nojima's next match is away to struggling Fukuoka, where they will expect another three points. Shizuoka have had a disappointing season thus far and will hope for better next Sunday against Harima Albion.

(Attendance: 200)

Komori Aoi came off the bench for her second substitute appearance this season, and scored two late goals to win this tie against Ange Violet Hiroshima. In the first half Tokiwagi looked to attack up the middle, but were repeatedly thwarted by Ange Violet's tight defence. In the 39th minute Shiraki Akari finally made the breakthrough for Tokiwagi, as they went in a goal up at half-time.

Kawasaki Saya gave away a penalty in the 70th minute, which Enya Mari scored to equalise. Komori came on immediately, and within three minutes had scored her first goal of the season, beating goalkeeper and defenders well to score in front of goal. With two minutes remaining Komori scored again, rounding Uetani in the Ange Violet net to score into an empty net.

Tokiwagi stay ninth but have two games in hand on those above them. They now travel to Minnesota to compete in the USA Cup, and next play Ehime in the Challenge League on July 20th. Ange Violet also next play on the 20th, against fellow promoted side Harima Albion.

Hirata scored twice in both halves, with a late goal from Uchiyama Tomoyo Nagano's only reply. Nagano will play Bunnys next weekend full of determination to recover, though they are very unlikely to make it to a promotion play-off.
