Tokiwagi Gakuen High School won the Challenge League today with a slender victory over Shizuoka Sangyo University, with an own goal from Shimamura Kumiko enough to see them home. Shizuoka Sangyo pushed hard for an equaliser but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal and though the home team rarely looked like adding a second, they were always in control. Despite not playing in any of the three playoff games, Kobayashi Rikako finished as the division's top scorer.
Shimamura Kumiko's attempted clearance from well outside the area was caught by the wind and ended up in the net, giving Tokiwagi Gakuen an early lead |
