Nadeshiko League Division 1 Second Round

JEF United Ichihara Chiba Ladies  1 - 0  Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies
(Attendance: 1,206)

JEF United won their first game of the season at home to Kanto rivals Urawa today courtesy of an own goal in the first half. The home side had largely been on top in the first half and deserved their lead but in the second Urawa came out strongly and put constant pressure on the JEF United defence. They were however unable to find an equaliser and after two games have no points to their name.

JEF United stay in Kanto next weekend when they face league leaders Beleza; Urawa will be extremely determined to get back on track at home to local rivals Saitama.

Vegalta Sendai Ladies  1 - 0  Albirex Niigata Ladies
(Attendance: 1,599)

A fine strike from outside the box by Hamada Haruka won this match against Niigata in miserable conditions in Sendai today. The home side were much the better of the two sides and deserved their win. Niigata were without Kamionobe Megumi in midfield and the absence of her guile was noticeable.

Sendai travel to Iga to face the Kunoichi who have a 100% record; Niigata will hope to pick up their first point against Belle.

AS Elfen Saitama  0 - 3  Nippon TV Beleza
(Attendance: 661)

A second routine 3-0 win for Beleza keeps them top of the table for another week as Saitama, without Sarah Gregorious who was on international duty, presented them with very little opposition. New team member Uetsuji Yumi once again scored the opening goal, with Sakaguchi following up soon after as Beleza led by two goals after just seventeen minutes. An own goal in the second half added some gloss.

Beleza host JEF United next weekend in what looks to be an exciting encounter. Saitama make the short trip to play Urawa in another daunting encounter.

Speranza FC Osaka Takatsuki  0 - 1  Iga FC Kunoichi
(Attendance: 411)

A very disappointing crowd watched Takatsuki's opening home game of the season, with Iga dominated from start to finish. The visitors did, however, have to rely on a single goal from the penalty spot to secure all three points. The scorer this week was again Suzuki Kaoruko, clearly enjoying life at her new club. Next weekend Takatsuki are again likely to lose, this time to INAC Kobe, while Iga will be in high spirits for the visit of Vegalta Sendai.

INAC Kobe Leonessa  3 - 0  Okayama Yunogo Belle
(Attendance: 3,852)

The visiting Belle team were today completely outclassed by an INAC Kobe side which could have won by more than just three goals. Kobe went close on a number of occasions in the first half, though Belle could have taken the lead themselves when the ball almost bobbled over following a chance for Matsuoka Miki. The other main incident in the first forty-five minutes was a collision of heads between Sawa Homare and Takahashi Sachie when the former headed the ball goalwards and struck her forehead against the back of the latter's head.

Belle's resistance lasted just five minutes into the second half, Ito Miki scoring with a fine low strike. Substitutes Masuya Rika and Nakada Ayu both scored a goal each as the younger players took centre stage.

Belle next travel to Niigata with INAC Kobe very confident of taking three points from Takatsuki.
