Challenge League Twenty-First Round

Shizuoka Sangyo University Iwata Bonita  1 - 6  Tokiwagi Gakuen High School
(Attendance: 130)

A second-half blitz from Tokiwagi Gakuen has left Shizuoka Sangyo in danger of not making the top twelve and therefore Nadeshiko League Division Two status next year. For their part Tokiwagi Gakuen have no intention of playing in the Nadeshiko League but will still be disappointed to have finished eighth this season.

Kashihara Mayu made her first start for Tokiwagi Gakuen today, with Kuratani Narumi coming off the bench to make her first appearance, capped with the final goal of the day. Tokiwagi's other scorers were Kawasaki, Sugihara, Shiraki Akari, Genseki Kiyoka, and Kobayashi Rikako who has scored in each of the last six games. Shimamura Kumiko scored her first of the season for Shiuzoka, their only reply.

Tokiwagi Gakuen will finish eighth regardless of their result against Setagaya on the last day. Shizuoka will look to beat Shimizu by a significant margin and then hope that Fukuoka don't beat Cerezo Osaka Sakai.

Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara  1 - 2  Ange Violet Hiroshima
(Attendance: 537)

With just a three point gap to leaders Takatsuki and a game in hand, Nojima and their supporters had seen this as game as the ideal opportunity to make up not just the three points but also the goal difference. It was not to be.

Katsurama Fumina opened the scoring in the first half, finishing well off a Saihara through pass to silence the Nojima contingent - the largest ever for a home game. Expected to come out strong in the second half, Nojima fell further behind with Katsurama scoring again seven minutes into the second half.

Nojima finally found the net in additional time, Kanai Nanae with a goal that was ultimately a small consolation - Nojima have to beat Takatsuki by five goals next Sunday to gain automatic promotion. Ehime FC Ladies  0 - 4  Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies
(Attendance: 290)

Cerezo Osaka Sakai's young team completed a remarkable turnaround in the second half of the season to secure league participation for next season with a thumping 4-0 win away to Ehime, their biggest of the season.

Tanaka Mika, who played very little this season compared to last, opened the scoring with her very first goal of 2014 in the eleventh minute to calm Cerezo nerves, and the visitors went in leading at half-time.

Eight minutes after the restart Matsubara Shiho doubled the lead and though Ehime made three changes minutes later, they were unable to stop captain Nishida Meika making it 3-0 on sixty-four minutes.

Cerezo had also made changes as they looked to a more defensive set up, though it didn't stop them scoring a fourth, their top scorer this season Tamazakura Kotono netting her eighth in the final minute of normal time to complete the rout and reverse the 5-1 scoreline in favour of Ehime in the sides' first meeting this season.

Cerezo Osaka have a chance of finishing in the top twelve, with the expectation that such a position would be enough to see them gain entry to the new Nadeshiko League Two division. They need to beat Fukuoka in their last match and stay ahead of Shizuoka Sangyo University on goal difference. Ehime are away to Bunnys hoping to overtake Ange Violet in ninth place.

The League's top scorer Yokoyama Kumi scored in the very first minute to take her to twenty-eight for the season and she will look to hit thirty in her side's final game against the Academy.

Nagano added two more after half-time through Uchiyama Tomoyo and Tanaka Nami, and the visitors looked safe until an own goal was followed up by a goal from the spot by Horie Mitsuiki. The JSCL ran out of time in the end, and will have to settle for tenth at best.
