Challenge League Second Round

Bunnys Kyoto SC  1 - 6  Nojima Stella Kanagawa Sagamihara
(Attendance: 145)

Having surpised everyone by beating Fukuoka in their opening game, Bunnys Kyoto were no match for Nojima who produced a blistering first forty-five minutes to lead 5-0 at the break.

Yoshimi Natsuki scored two of those goals to take her season total to three, though she was outdone by Minamino Arisa who scored a hat-trick to take her debut season total to five to lead the Challenge League scoring table.

Sakamoto Juri scored the remaining Nojima goal while Bunnys' only consolation was from Hanazaki Rena just after half-time. They next have a difficult away fixture against local rivals Takatsuki. League leaders Nojima face second-placed Nittaidai in the first Kanagawa derby in the early game on Saturday.

AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies  3 - 3  Sfida Setagaya FC
(Attendance: 421)

Two of the leading promotion contenders met today in an exciting and sometimes badly-natured tie in Nagano, and a draw was probably the fairest result even if neither side will have been happy with it.

Nagano were 2-0 up at half-time and will have not been happy to allow Setagaya back into the game. Yokoyama Kumi scored her third goal in two games to give the home side the lead after ten minutes, with Yamjima Yuki scoring her first since moving from Sayama at the end of last season.

Setagaya came back strongly at the start of the second half and within thirteen minutes were level, the scorers Usuda Haruka and Shimojo Aya. Four minutes after the equaliser Nagano were back in front, Uchiyama Tomoyo with her first of the season. Setagata weren't to be beaten though, and Usuda headed in the final goal of the afternoon, and her fourth of the season, to give Setagaya a share of the points.

Setagaya host the JSCL next Sunday very confident of gaining all three points, with Nagano facing another difficult test as they travel to Matsushima to take on champions Tokiwagi Gakuen.

JFA Academy Fukushima  0 - 1  AS Harima Albion
(Attendance: 130)

The JFA Academy made four changes from last week with Asano, Hashinuma and Okuma returning from the World Cup in Costa Rica joining Kojima Miku in the starting lineup. Harima brought Sugiyama and Koyano in for their first league starts for the team.

A largely uneventful game in Gotenba seemed destined to end scoreless, before a powerful run by substitute Yamaguchi Saya saw her score her first ever league goal, with her appearances at Kibi limited to just three.

The Academy had no time to respond and have now lost their two opening games, though they will be confident of recovery though their next game away to nearby Shizuoka Sangyo will again be fraught with danger. Like Ange Violet, Harima host their first league game next weekend and will expect another victory against bottom side Shimizu Daihachi Pleiades.

Japan Soccer College Ladies  0 - 3  Shizuoka Sangyo University Iwata Bonita
(Attendance: 179)

Otomo Chinatsu, Ishibuchi Yuki and Iwasaki Manami all started for the JSCL as they sought a second consecutive victory at home against the ambitious Shizuoka Sangyo University, who themselves brought in Shimamura Kumiko for her first appearance this season.

Shizuoka took the lead in the eighteenth minute through Hirano Asami, her first goal since her debut season of 2011. The JSCL had more chances and attacking play than their visitors, but couldn't make the telling breakthrough and two more second half goals won the game for Shiuzoka. Oda Kanna and Kanno Mie were the scorers, both their first goals of the season.

The JSCL have another challenging test next weekend away to Setagaya, while Shizuoka host local neighbours JFA Academy hoping their run of poor form continues.

Shimizu Daihachi Pleiades  1 - 4  Tokiwagi Gakuen High School
(Attendance: 124)

Shimizu were never likely to trouble Tokiwagi Gakuen and even though the home side took an unexpected lead in the 20th minute through Miyakawa Tomoko the lead only lasted twelve minutes and by half-time the schoolgirls had wrested away the lead for good. Last season's Challenge League MVP Shiraki Akari scored her first of the season to equalise, with Kawasaki Saya scoring the lead goal five minutes later.

Two goals in the last fifteen minutes sealed Tokiwagi's first points of the season, with Nishikawa Ayaka scoring the third and Shiraki scoring her second of the day to complete the rout.

Tokiwagi Gakuen are at home next week to Nagano in what promises to be an exciting game. Shimizu look doomed even at this early stage and their next match against Harima is a must-win.

Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies  2 - 5  Speranza FC Osaka Takatsuki
(Attendance: 521)

Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies started the first ever Osaka derby with their two U-17 World Cup winners on the bench, and make just one change with Hayashi Honoka coming in for Takarada Saori. Takatsuki also made one change, Hirano Satoko replacing Ikeda Asumi.

Any hopes of a home win looked remote as early as the second minute, when Hazuki Yuki ran on to a Maruyama pass to score the lead goal. Cerezo didn't collapse however, and found an equaliser just before half-time through Hayashi.

Takatsuki need to win as many games against lower opposition as possible and a four-goal blitz after half-time ensured they would retain their 100% record. Captain Sato Kaede scored twice, with Akiba and Torao also netting before Cerezo had the final say, with Matsubara scoring her first goal in her first appearance since returning from Costa Rica.

Takatsuki will look to win again against another of their local rivals Bunnys Kyoto next weekend, with Cerezo travelling to Hiroshima for Ange Violet's first ever home game in the Challenge League. Both sides have yet to register a point.

Ehime FC Ladies  3 - 0  Ange Violet Hiroshima
(Attendance: 150)

Having lost disappointingly to Nittaidai last weekend, Ehime were far better today and easily brushed aside the challenge of Ange Violet Hiroshima. The home side's only change was to bring in new recruit Kamata Ran for Kawamura Akari. Hiroshima brought Uozumi Arisa into midfireld in place of Yamagata Hisami.

Ehime took the lead just before half-time, Nishigawa with the goal to lift the tension. Two more goals in the second half were just reward for Ehime's dominance, those from Akune Mana and a first league goal for Watai Shiori.

Ehime look to heap more misery on Fukuoka next Sunday, while Ange Violet host their first league game with Cerezo Osaka Sakai the visitors.

Nittaidai Football Club Ladies  5 - 1  Fukuoka J. Anclas
(Attendance: 115)

A crushing victory for Nittaidai which has shown them to be contenders this season has also revealed just how far Fukuoka are from challenging for promotion back to the Nadeshiko League. Nittaidai rested new goalkeeper Inoue Nene, with fellow first year Matsuda Kasumi starting her first league game. Fukuoka also changed goalkeepers, Shimada Megumi replacing Shimada Megumi and up front the veteran Fujimoto replaced Kurahara.

Uemura Shoko was injured for much of the 2013 season but has started both games this season and has already scored three goals, with her two today coming in the first half as Fukuoka were simply unable to keep pace with her. Maegami Eri scored her first ever league goal at the start of the second half, as did Maeda Risa at the end of the half. In between Fuse Kanako added another for Nittaidai and Fukui Shihori scored a consolation for Fukuoka, her first since joining from FC Kibi. One last piece of news was that Hirata Hikari, who had been with Fukuoka since childhood, made her first appearance for Nittaidai as a late substitute.

Nittaidai will now go into the first Kanagawa derby full of confidence, Fukuoka into their next home match against Ehime with very little.
