A change in format for the Nadeshiko League in 2014

The Nadeshiko League's 2014 season will see a change in its system, to one most recently used in 2006.

Following the regular series of eighteen games (each team playing each other once home and away), the league will split in two.

Thereafter, the top six teams will play each other again, both home and away, for a total of twenty-eight games per team.

The bottom four teams will also play each other again, both home and away, for a total of twenty-four games per team.

The Nadeshiko League Cup will be suspended.

The Challenge League's format will remain the same as that for the 2013 season, with two blocks of eight teams. Each team will play home and away against every other team in its own block, and after this series will play each team in the other block once, for a total of twenty-two games.
