Challenge League Twelfth Round

Shizuoka Sangyo University Iwata Bonita  1 - 3  AS Elfen Sayama FC
(Attendance: 303)

Shizuoka Sangyo scored with their only shot in the entire match to take a 1-0 lead into half-time, with young Shimamura Kumiko scoring her fourth goal in an impressive first season. Sayama rescued themselves with sixteen minutes remaining, scoring two goals in a minute, the first from the spot by Ito Kanako and the second by fellow veteran Arakawa Eriko. Nojima scored a goal in either half, Terada Reiko in the first and Nagasawa Madoka in the second, the latter scoring her first goal in her second substitute appearance. The JSCL will expect to recover well against Kagoshima next weekend; Nojima have a local derby against Nittaidai.

Je Vrille Kagoshima  0 - 1  Shimizu Daihachi Pleiades

(Attendance: 308)

Shimizu Daihachi Pleiades emerged the victors from this do-or-die game and may have done enough to ensure survival for another year. Kagoshima, with just one point and an appalling goal difference ratio, now look destined to be relegated regardless of whom they face in a play-off. Even with ten games remaining the only team they look capable of beating is bottom side Hoyo Sukarabu. Kawachi Erika who joined pre-season from Bunnys was the Pleiades heroine, scoring the only goal in the fourth minute to give her new side their first win of the season.

Je Vrille Kagoshima:

Nakagawa Yoshimi, Yamada Kaori, Mok Sun Jung, Hirata Misato, Murai Kaori, Saito Toshiko, Sakamoto Ayaka, Imanaka Yuri, Mitsudome Kanami, Sannomiya Shiki (capt), Oh Yu Sun
Subs: Konishi Momoka (Mitsudome Kanami, 78 mins)

Unused subs: Maruyama Kimi, Inoue Yurie, Hirukawa Mio, Otawa Haruka
Scorers: Kawachi Erika (4 mins)

JFA Academy Fukushima  2 - 1  Nittaidai Football Club Ladies

(Attendance: 117)

Having gained revenge over Shizuoka Sangyo in style last weekend, Nittaidai's students were surprisingly beaten by the JFA Academy today, who were without three of their big name players: Miyake, Kojima and Norimatsu. After a scoreless first half, Tachibana and Mizutani scored in the first eleven minutes after the restart and although Uemura - starting for the first time - scored her third goal in three consecutive games, Nittaidai left it far too late to rescue a point. These teams meet again in three weeks in Yokohama.

JFA Academy Fukushima:
Hirao Chika (capt), Takahashi Fuko, Moriya Miyabi, Hashinuma Maho, Kitagawa Hikaru, Tsukamoto Natsuki, Mizutani Yuki, Hirata Mai, Tachibana Yo, Nakajo Yui, Ueda Yuriko

Scorers: Uemura Shoko (88 mins)
Booked: Sakurai Mayuka

Tokiwagi Gakuen High School  4 - 2  Sfida Setagaya FC
(Attendance: 200)

Tokiwagi Gakuen repeated the trick against Sfida Setagaya and in denting the leaders' promotion hopes have improved their own title chances significantly. Though not seeking promotion themselves, there is a deep determination to regain top spot in the division following a disappointing 2012 season. First year student Kobayashi Rikako has been very impressive and opened the scoring in the fourteenth minute - her third in four games. Less than a minute later Tokiwagi had another, Shiraki scoring from a Sasaki pass. Setagaya pulled a goal back on 29 minutes - Usuda Haruka with her season opener - to give the visitors hope at half time. Tokiwagi weren't finished though, and Sasaki scored with fifteen minutes remaining to end Setagaya's hopes of staying top. Two goals were scored in additional time - Mitamura Momoko for Tokiwagi and Shimojo Aya with her tenth of the season direct from a corner kick.

Tokiwagi Gakuen High School:
Fukumura Kanae, Sugihara Haruna, Kakinoki Runa, Hirata Miki, Okakura Mika (capt), Nishikawa Ayaka, Ichise Nana, Ito Miki, Shiraki Akari, Sasaki Miwa, Kobayashi Rikako

Scorers: Usuda Haruka (29 mins), Shimojo Aya (90+3 mins)
Booked: Kawaguchi Mana

Ehime FC Ladies  0 - 2  Fukuoka J. Anclas
(Attendance: 250)

On a soggy pitch Fukuoka came away with all three points having failed to beat Ehime at home earlier in the season. The victory keeps the Kyushu outfit in touch with the leaders though the feeling is that they will have to improve significantly if they are to overtake the three sides above them. The reliable Tagashira and Fujimoto both scored again - a goal in each half - with Ehime missing a penalty to add further misery to their situation. They are now well behind their target though will hope to improve against Cerezo Osaka Sakai next week, against whom they lost earlier in the season. Fukuoka have another major test next weekend away to Tokiwagi Gakuen, for whom this is very much a match they want to win following their defeat in Fukuoka.

Ehime FC Ladies:
Ueno Yukiko, Kushiyama Saki, Onoyama Nana, Mukaidani Ayaka, Kuzuma Riyo, Iwamoto Yuka, Yamashiro Miyuki, Ono Miyuu, Nishigawa Sayumi (capt), Ogawa Manami, Akune Mana

Unused subs: Jung Seul Won
Scorers: Tagashira Yoko (29 mins), Fujimoto Yuki (83 mins)

Bunnys Kyoto SC  1 - 4  Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies
(Attendance: 250)

Bunnys were embarrassed at home today by Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies, who have now started to play well and with a settled side. Bunnys were no match for the schoolgirls in the first half, with Nishida Meika scoring twice to add to Matsubara's opening goal. Four minutes into the second half Saito Natsumi scored to give Bunnys hope, but their efforts were in vain and with ten minutes remaining Hayashi eased home a loose ball for a fine win for the visitors.

Bunnys Kyoto SC:
Konno Mai, Yu Ji Eun, Saito Hitomi, Kameoka Natsumi, Nakamura Miki, Toyoda Nayuha (capt), Yoshino Yuka, Kushige Aoi, Sawada Yuka, Tanihara Yukari, Saito Natsumi

Booked: Nishida Meika

AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies  3 - 1  Hoyo Sukarabu FC
(Attendance: 331)

Hanabusa Misa scored her first ever league goal today, to give her new side Hoyo Sukarabu the lead over her old side Nagano. Hoyo have played poorly this season, though have still looked more impressive than their fellow strugglers and could yet survive in the Challenge League if they can beat both Pleiades and Kagoshima. Today, they were no match for last season's strugglers Nagano, who came back to win 3-1 despite only having three shots in the entire match. Hamagaki equalised on twenty minutes, with the winning goals coming in the second half from Aoshima Miyabi and again from Hamagaki. Hoyo are likely to lose again next week to Setagaya, but keeping the score down will be important. Nagano play Bunnys as both seek a top ten finish.

AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies:

Matsumoto Azumi, Shinohara Shihoko, Hatano Saki (capt), Komatsu Misato, Hashiura Satsuki, Uchiyama Tomoyo, Yoshida Aoi, Takagi Nao, Uchiyama Tomoka, Hamagaki Kana, Urasaki Yuka

Challenge League Eleventh Round

Nojima Stella Kanagawa  2 - 2  JFA Academy Fukushima
(Attendance: 268)

Nojima Stella Kanagawa missed the chance to go top overnight as they were pegged back by the JFA Academy in Sagamihara today. Kanai got the home side off to a good start with her eight goal of the season after just eleven minutes, and Nojima looked good for all three points when Kinjo scored her first just before half time. However, the Academy refused to lie down and attacked furiously in the second half, with captain Kojima Miku scoring on 70 minutes to increase her side's belief. Their fighting spirit was rewarded in additional time when Miyake scored her fourth of the season - twice as many as she scored last season - and the Academy had a well deserved point. They next take on Yokohama's other side, Nittaidai, while Nojima travel to Niigata to play the much-improved JSCL.

Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies  1 - 1  AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies
(Attendance: 307)

Nagano will probably be the more relieved when looking back that they picked up a point. Having started the match well and taking the lead through Urasaki in the 26th minute, their captain Tanaka Nami was sent off just three minutes later. With over an hour to play the visitors became more defensive while Cerezo looked to capitalise. It wasn't until 57 minutes in that they found the equaliser though, the impressive Nishida Meika finding the net following a through pass from Matsubara. Cerezo pushed on and looked the more likely to score, but Nagano held on and a point each is what both probably deserve.

AS Elfen Sayama FC  9 - 0  Je Vrille Kagoshima

(Attendance: 366)

Je Vrille Kagoshima were again helpless and hopeless as they succumbed to another heavy defeat, as Sayama were in no mood to waste time or to take it easy with the title race likely to go to the last game. Ito Kanako scored a hat-trick and Arakawa Eriko scored a brace as they took their season totals to ten and thirteen goals respectively. Uchida, Nara and Azami were also on the scoresheet, the latter starting the game in defence. With the addition of an own-goal, Sayama are the first team to reach fifty goals scored, and stay two points behind leaders Setagaya. Their next game is away to Shizuoka Sangyo and they will be expected to win. Kagoshima's home game against Pleiades is crucial for both sides, with the losers likely to be relegated at the end of the season.

Shimizu Daihachi Pleiades  1 - 5  Japan Soccer College Ladies
(Attendance: 184)

Pleiades took a surprise lead today against the JSCL when former Bunnys player Miura Kyoko struck home after 28 minutes. The home side's joy was short-lived though, as JSCL captain Kusakari Ayako headed in a Sakaguchi cross to equalise four minutes later. Sasaki and Nomura added two more just after the break - the latter with her first league goal to break the Pleiades resistance and another goal from Kusakari was followed by a late Sanada headed goal to give the visitors a comfortable victory. One notable aspect is that four of the JSCL's five goals came from corner kick routines. Pleiades now travel to Kagoshima desperate for a win, with the JSCL at home to Nojima Stella Kanagawa.

Fukuoka J. Anclas  3 - 1  Bunnys Kyoto SC

(Attendance: 607)

Fukuoka recovered from their shock defeat to Nagano to pick up three points against a battling Bunnys side today. Iimura scored her first of the season early in the game to settle nerves and Fujimoto scored just before half-time to further Fukuoka's advantage. Big name signing Kameoka pulled a goal back with a marvellous free kick for Bunnys with sixteen minutes remaining, though the visitors were not able to find another and Ukita scored for Fukuoka to seal the win. Sfida Setagaya FC  1 - 0  Ehime FC Ladies
(Attendance: 516)

A lone goal from league top scorer Mori Hitomi on a very poor pitch was enough for Setagaya to stay top of the Challenge League. Both sides were evenly matched, though for Ehime Nakada Maiko again came into the game quite late as it appears her side may be preparing for life without her. The winning goal came on 70 minutes, the aforementioned Mori scoring direct from a free kick. Setagaya didn't play particularly well, but that will be forgotten if they attain promotion at the end of the season. They next have a very tough match away to Tokiwagi Gakuen, the only side to have beaten the Tokyo outfit thus far. Ehime are at home to Fukuoka.

Sayama was involved at the other end on 72 minutes, giving away a penalty kick at the other end, which Shimada put away with aplomb. Challenge League Tenth Round

AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies  4 - 3  Fukuoka J. Anclas
(Attendance: 402)

Nagano put in their most impressive performance in some time as they beat Fukuoka at home, but only after a late scare. Hashiura and Hamagaki's two early goals set them up well, but a late goal in the first half from Hanada - her first since the opening game - brought Fukuoka ominously back into contention. In the second half though, their equaliser didn't materialise and with two further goals from Takagi and Uchiyama, Nagano found themselves in the unusual position of being three goals up. Still they couldn't close the game out and with two very late goals the visitors gave themselves a real chance of snatching a point. It wasn't to be though, as Nagano held on for three very important points, and a real boost to morale. Fukuoka's challenge for promotion have now taken a real blow, as they look to reassert themselves next week against Bunnys.

(Attendance: 370)

Another seven goal thriller was served up in Ehime, as Tokiwagi Gakuen showed again their potential and are now serious contenders for the title. Their scorers were the always impressive Ito, Sasaki and new girl Kobayashi. For Ehime Ogawa scored her first ever league goal, and Ono Miyuu and Nakada also scored, the latter right at the death. Ehime are no longer contenders for promotion, and next week have a very difficult trip to Setagaya. Tokiwagi Gakuen do not play.

Yoshimi Natsuki was again in superb form, scoring a hat-trick to take her to twelve goals for the season. The towering Terada, Kawarazaki and Saito also scored. For the JSCL Kawashima was again given an opportunity in goal and Niiho Madoka once again started. Bunnys Kyoto SC  0 - 6  Sfida Setagaya FC
(Attendance: 200)

Bunnys were torn asunder by the rampant Sfida Setagaya, who stay top of the table with nine wins from ten games. For Bunnys Nakamura was sent off, and very little went their way in the match. Setagaya's Shimojo, Fukuhara, Nagasawa and league top scorer Mori all scored as they took complete control of this match.
