Challenge League Fifth Round

Nojima Stella Kanagawa  4 - 0  Japan Soccer College Ladies
(Attendance: 384)

Nojima Stella moved to the top of the table overnight as they overcame the JSC Ladies in Sagamihara today. Nanjo Masayo started in goal for the first time for the home side and the JSC introduced young Miyazaki Serina to their starting lineup.

Two first half goals by Kanai Nanae were added to in the second half by Yoshimi Natsuki, with her second coming from the spot. Both players have now scored four this season. Toriumi and Nakashima were lively up front for the JSC but couldn't repeat their heroics from last week. They next host the struggling Kagoshima, while Nojima have a home derby against Nittaidai to look forward to.

Shimizu Daihachi Pleiades  2 - 2  Je Vrille Kagoshima
(Attendance: 158)

An entertaining match saw both sides earn their first point of the season. Pleiades had taken the lead early, Hamanaka Saki heading in Miura's free kick. Seven minutes later Imanaka scored direct from a free kick to give Kagoshima their first goal of the season and with eighteen minutes remaining her corner kick was headed in by Oh Yu Sun to give the visitors a surprising lead. However, with just six minutes remaining Miura Kyoko, recently transferred from Bunnys, headed in the equaliser to give either side a share of the points. Neither side will be happy with just a single point, with the sides above them looking stronger.

Pleiades host neighbours Shizuoka next Sunday hoping to pick up a point, while Kagoshima travel to Niigata for a match against the JSC Ladies to whom their top scorer of last year, Nakashima Ayaka, transferred this season.

Sfida Setagaya FC  0 - 1  Tokiwagi Gakuen High School
(Attendance: 632)

Tokiwagi Gakuen came away with all three points to leave the home side shocked as they suffered their first loss of the season. With the race for promotion set to be very tight, it was a defeat Setagaya could ill afford. Tomiyama had been brought into the Setagaya side and along with Oshima, Mori and Shimojo, peppered the Tokiwagi goal with shots but to no avail, former Setagaya youth player Fukumura excelling on her return to goal for the schoolgirls. The goal came in the 64th minute, Shiraki Akari again scoring down the middle following a through pass from Sugihara Haruna.

Tokiwagi Gakuen are now the only side in the Challenge League with a 100% record and having been below par last season, look to once again challenge for the title. Hoyo Sukarabu FC  0 - 1  AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies
(Attendance: 115)

A vital away win for Nagano and a first clean sheet for Jessica Klauzenberg will have pleased ambitious manager Honda Midori, as her side move onto six points and away from those stuggling at the bottom. Urasaki Yuka was extremely lively and last year's top scorer scored her first of the season in the 72nd minute, assisted by Hashiura Satsuki. Nagano have now won twice in succession and will be confident of beating Bunnys Kyoto next Sunday. Hoyo Sukarabu have a very difficult assignment at home to Sfida Setagaya.

Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies  0 - 1  Bunnys Kyoto SC

(Attendance: 460)

Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies once again struggled with stamina as they fell behind to a late Kushige Aoi goal which sees both teams side-by-side on three points from five games. Nishida Meika was the most productive up front for Cerezo, but Bunnys had far more of the play and the midfield trio of Kameoka, Kushige and Sawada have quite a number of scoring chances between them.

Bunnys look to continue their momentum against Nagano, while Cerezo host Ehime who still harbour hopes of promotion this season.

Fukuoka J. Anclas  1 - 1  Ehime FC Ladies
(Attendance: 679)

Hirata Hikari continues to impress for Anclas as she gave them the lead in the 57th minute as her side looked to continue their outstanding start to the season. Visiting Ehime were without Nakada Maiko but managed to draw level with eleven minutes remaining through very lively defender Kushiyama Saki.

Ehime must continue to pick up points if their goal of promotion is to be realised, and they should be confident of a win over Cerezo next Sunday. Tokiwagi Gakuen are the visitors to Fukuoka and should be a very stern test for the home side.

AS Elfen Sayama FC  3 - 1  Shizuoka Sangyo University Iwata Bonita
(Attendance: 624)

Shizuoka Sangyo will regret not coming away with three points from this encounter, after Sayama goalkeeper Yamago Nozomi was sent off in the 22nd minute. The penalty kick resulting from her foul was saved by replacement Kobayashi Maiko - Ishida the culprit for Shizuoka - and within a few minutes Arakawa Eriko had headed the home side into the lead at the other end. Shizuoka couldn't really get going and with two further goals from Uchida and Azami in the second half, Sayama had a relatively comfortable victory. Oda Kanna, Shizuoka's top scorer last season, finally got off the mark this season with a late consolation.

Next Sunday Sayama will face an interesting encounter against a full-strength JFA Academy side while Shizuoka are away to Shimizu in the big derby match.
