The 34th Empress' Cup - Second Round Results

Second Round Matches, ties played on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of December:

Match 9:
Waseda University  5 - 1  Hokkaido Otani Muroran High School
(Attendance: 156)

Waseda easily brushed aside the challenge from the Muroran schoolgirls on their way to an interesting tie against INAC Kobe. Seguchi Nanami scored twice along with last week's scorer of a brace Omiya Reona, Tanimoto Haruna (from the spot) and Onoda Riko. Tanaka Ayaka scored for Muroran.

Match 10:
Japan Soccer College Ladies  0 - 1  AS Elfen Sayama FC
(Attendance: 579)

The JSCL started with a very defensive lineup, with only one forward player and five at the back. As expected Sayama had many more chances but were not overly impressive in the final third. At the back Sakaguchi Yuki dealt with the threat of Azami Rie well and Toriumi Mai put in another impressive performance. Sayama finally scored with just four minutes remaining, Hagiwara Aimi with her first goal of the season. Sayama next play Speranza FC Osaka Takatsuki.

Match 11:
JFA Academy Fukushima  3 - 0  Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences
(Attendance: 171)

The Academy girls dealt with the threat of Osaka's students comfortably, with Kojima Miku scoring two goals in a four minute period in the first half. Kojima started the season as a defender, moved into midfield and is now being employed as a striker. Moriya Miyabi added a third in the second half. The JFA Academy now meet Albirex Niigata Ladies.

Match 12:
Nittaidai FC Ladies  0 - 6  Vegalta Sendai Ladies
(Attendance: 2,794)

Vegalta Sendai stepped up another gear in this, their third meeting with Nittaidai's students. For the visitors Oguri Mao shone in midfield, but Sendai's class was too much for the visitors. Yasumoto opened the scoring in the fourth minute, in attempting to cross from the right the ball nestled in the far side of the net. Ito Minako added a penalty to make the half-time score 2-0. Feeling comfortable the Vegalta Sendai team then treated their fans to an exhibition in the second half with further goals from Nakahara, Sameshima with her first goal in Sendai, Sakai Yuki and Shimokozuru Aya. Vegalta now march on to a meeting with Urawa Red Diamonds.

Match 13:
Nojima Stella Kanagawa  10 - 0  Kochi ganador FC
(Attendance: 111)

Nojima Stella completely destroyed Kochi ganador to ease into the third round and a prestigious match with Okayama Yunogo Belle. An own goal started things off, and thereafter it was all one-way. Kawarazaki Nozomi scored four, Kanai Nanae scored twice, and the other scorers were Yoshimi Natsuki, Yoshida Ayaka and captain Oyama Saki.

Match 14:
Kamimura Gakuen High School  2 - 1  FC Takahashi Kibi International University Charme
(Attendance: 100)

Having focussed all of their energy on the task of beating AS Elfen Sayama to gain promotion to the Nadeshiko League, FC Takahashi were visibly drained and lacking in intensity in Sendai today, which does not mean that Kamimura Gakuen did not deserve their victory. Their closing down of the threat on the wings from Noma and Nishikawa was wondrous and up front the power of Fushiki Kaho was just enough to overcome FC Takahashi in the end. Nishikawa gave Takahashi the lead in the first half before two slightly fortunate goals for Fushiki in the second half won the game for the schoolgirl side. They next play Iga FC Kunoichi.

Match 15:
Kanto Gakuen University  1 - 2  Fukuoka J. Anclas
(Attendance: 166)

Anclas were two goals up on the students by half-time, with Fujimoto and Kawamura scoring - Fujimoto netting for the third game in a row. In the second half Kanto Gakuen came back strongly, with Nakamura Yushika showing her class, and scoring a goal in reply. In the end Anclas held on and next play JEF United Ladies.

Match 16:
Fujieda Junshin High School  0 - 2  Tokiwagi Gakuen High School
(Attendance: 248)

Fujieda Junshin played the better football, but with the power and strength of Michigami Ayaka to rely on, Tokiwagi Gakuen did just enough to overcome the visitors to Sendai. Michigami scored early in the game and although the Fujieda midfield of Imai, Yamada and Sugita were very impressive, the Tokiwagi defence was strong, and allowed very few clear chances. Tokiwagi now play Beleza, whom they beat on penalties two years ago.
