Challenge League Fourth Round

Bunnys Kyoto SC  1 - 3  Fukuoka J. Anclas
(Attendance: 150)

Bunnys remain pointless after four games while at the other end of the table Fukuoka move onto twelve as their bid for a return to the top division continues without a stutter. An early own goal for Anclas was equalised just before half-time by Yoshino Yuka. Bunnys couldn't hang on though, and two late goals from Shibuya and Hirata - the third this season for both - gave the visitors all three points. They now play three far more accomplished sides in Ehime, Tokiwagi Gakuen and Setagaya and will be fully tested. Bunnys look forward to taking on Cerezo Osaka, Nagano and Hoyo.

Shizuoka Sangyo University Iwata Bonita  3 - 0  Nittaidai Football Club Ladies
(Attendance: 179)

Ogata Yurika and newcomer Shimamura Kumiko both scored their first goals of the season and with Ishida scoring her second, Shizuoka Sangyo easily saw off the challenge of the struggling Nittaidai to move onto ten points after four games, just as they did last season. The home side's next challenge is against AS Elfen Sayama and this should be a sterner test. Nittaidai have not yet got going this season and the experiment of playing Oguri up front hasn't worked as well as might have been expected. Je Vrille Kagoshima  0 - 11  AS Elfen Sayama FC

(Attendance: 242)

Kagoshima have made the most appalling start to the season and were no match for Sayama who scored at will. The visitors' highlight was a four goal haul for Arakawa Eriko. Usui Rie also scored her first of the season since joining following her year off following graduation. For the home side Akune scored her third in three games, equalising in the twelfth minute, and Marugata Rie pulled one back in the 65th minute to give Ehime hope. They did manage to take the lead, Yasuda Yuki heading them in front in the eighth minute. In the second half Niigata played better and a quick Kamionobe goal after half time brought them level. FC Kibikokusaidaigaku Charme  0 - 0  Speranza FC Osaka Takatsuki
(Attendance: 693)

Takatsuki were extremely intent on attacking at pace in the first half but were unable to break the deadlock. In the second half Kibi took control but they too were unable to find a way to goal. AS Elfen Sayama FC  1 - 2  Nojima Stella Kanagawa
(Attendance: 843)

Yoshimi Natsuki was the Nojima heroine as the newcomers dealt the division favourites an early blow in their quest for promotion back to the Nadeshiko League. Tokiwagi Gakuen High School  3 - 2  AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies
(Attendance: 70)

In dreadful weather conditions Tokiwagi Gakuen overcame the improved Nagano but needed an injury time penalty kick to pull off the win. Ito Miki scored the first goal of the day on 23 minutes and fourteen minutes later local girl Sasaki Miwa made it 2-0 to the home side. The visitors fought back valiantly and Hashiura and Uchiyama, scorers of eight goals between them last season, brought Nagano level just a minute before the finish. They looked to have done enough to take home a point but new goalkeeper Unoki Mao fouled a Tokiwagi player and from the spot Shiraki Akari made no mistake. The schoolgirls are off to another good start while Nagano will have been bitterly disappointed not to at least get a draw.

Sfida Setagaya FC  8 - 2  Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies
(Attendance: 1,682)

The young schoolgirls of Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies started well in their first league game, with Takarada Saori scoring on 11 minutes, but they were unable to stop Setagaya from ultimately tearing them apart. Tanaka Marina equalised, heading in a corner, before new signing Shimojo scored to give them the lead. Mori Hitomi scored three, JSC graduate Shano scored a brace having come on after an hour and Oshima Sayuri got on the scoresheet with a late left-footed drive. Cerezo's only response came from Narisako Misaki who scored direct from a free kick.

Setagaya look strong this season and are pushing for promotion - and had an excellent attendance, while Cerezo will surely get better over the course of the year.

Ehime FC Ladies  4 - 0  Bunnys Kyoto SC
(Attendance: 620)

In a repeat of last year's scoreline, Ehime were too much for Bunnys and although the visitors have made several notable signings they were once again unable to stop the goals flying in. Akune Mana opened the scoring before Iwamoto Yuka scored twice - equaling her total from 21 games last season. Star player Nakada Maiko came on just after the hour and proceeded to score the final goal just before the end with a diving header. Ehime look good for a top half finish, Bunnys must work harder.

Hanada, Hirata (2) and Shibuya also scored for the home side with Suzu Arisa scoring Hoyo's sole reply. It was announced after the game that Kawamura would be joining JEF United Ichihara Chiba Ladies and the loss of such a talented player will be a blow to Anclas as they will surely face stronger opposition. Hoyo will have enjoyed the experience of their first league game, though it looks like it will be a significant challenge for them to remain in the league at the end of the season.

Nadeshiko League Third Round

INAC Kobe Leonessa  3 - 0  Speranza FC Osaka Takatsuki
(Attendance: 2,503)

With the roof closed due to bad weather, table topping INAC Kobe made no changes to their lineup for the visit of bottom side Speranza FC Osaka Takatsuki, who brought in young Hazuki Yuki for the injured Kanjana Sung-Ngoen. Hazuki had scored last weekend to briefly level things up against NTV Beleza, only for the Takatsuki side to concede two late goals.

On five minutes Tanaka Yoko had the first shot on goal which was comfortably saved by Ono, and it is fair to say that in the opening fifteen minutes there was very little in the way of exciting goal chances. Goebel-Yanez charged down an Ono clearance in the 17th minute but the ricochet was unkind for the INAC forwards and the chance was lost. Over the next ten minutes the home side increased the tempo and created more chances for themselves though their finishing was quite poor by their own high standards and for the most part the Takatsuki defence kept their shape. At the other end Hazuki had their first shot on target though she didn't catch it well and it was no problem for Kaihori.

On 39 minutes the the breakthrough finally came for the champions as Tanaka Asuna headed in a Ji free kick from close range. While Ono was hardly to blame for the first goal, she gifted the second to INAC just before the half-time whistle when another free kick, this time from the right was knocked in and what looked an easily-saveable header from Minamiyama Chiaki was palmed weakly into the net to gve INAC Kobe what already looked to be an unassailable lead entering the second half.

Minamiyama should have had another just after the restart when she couldn't quite connect with a ball across the face of goal from Tanaka Yoko. Shortly after, following a foul on Kawasumi, INAC once again scored from a free kick, this time Sawa Homare headed in, while Ono will again feel she could have done better.

Tsuboi hit the crossbar for Takatsuki in the 75th minute which was the closest her side came to scoring. Hazuki had impressed with her energy and enthusiasm and for INAC Kobe Goebel-Yanez impressed with her skills on the ball, and hit the post with a good shot just before the end of the game.

A facile win for INAC Kobe then, and they moved three points clear ahead of the games on Sunday. Takatasuki remain rooted to the bottom without a single point and will need impressive performances all over the park and the return of their two injured Thai players if they are to remain in the top division next season.

A mistake by Yamane Erina in the JEF goal gave Takahashi Chiho the easiest of chances to put Kibi 1-0 up after twelve minutes.
